Agosto de 1966, en Vietnam del Sur. Durante más de tres horas y media, bajo una incesante lluvia y peleando contra el barro y los árboles, el comandante Harry Smith y su unidad con 108 soldados inexpertos tratan de hacer frente a un enemigo que supera las 2500 unidades. La munición se agota, aumenta el número de muertos y el enemigo se prepara para lanzar una última ofensiva que los ejércitos australianos y neozelandeses tendrán que tratar de parar con honor, decencia y coraje. La batalla de Long Tan fue uno de los enfrentamientos más importantes de la Guerra de Vietnam.
