Sinopsis:
Basado en el documental homónimo de Joshua Brown y John Mikulak, The Man Who Would Be Polka King sigue el ascenso y la caída del artista polaco Jan Lewan, un icono de la polka en Pennsylvania que sorprendió al mundo entero cuando intentó seducir a sus fans con la operación fraudulenta conocida como el esquema Ponzi. Ese plan con el que pretendía hacerse millonario terminó llevándole a la cárcel.
Jack Black (Escuela de Rock, Kung Fu Panda) produce y protagoniza esta comedia de Netflix basada en hechos reales dirigida y escrita por Maya Forbes (Tu mejor amigo, Un rockero de pelotas) y Wallace Wolodarsky (Monstruos contra alienígenas, Los Simpsons). El reparto lo completan nombres como Jenny Slate (Zootrópolis, Mascotas), Jason Schwartzman (El gran hotel Budapest, Viaje a Darjeeling) o Jacki Weaver (El lado bueno de las cosas, Animal Kingdom).
