El 29 de noviembre de 2002, un año después del fallecimiento de George Harrison, Olivia Harrison y su viejo amigo Eric Clapton organizaron un espectáculo para honrar su memoria. Sus amigos más cercanos se reunieron en el Royal Albert Hall de Londres para recordar su vida de la mejor forma que sabían: tocando su música. La inolvidable velada incluyó canciones de George y algunos de sus temas favoritos de otros artistas, interpretados por Eric Clapton, Jools Holland, Jeff Lynne, Paul McCartney, Monty Python, Tom Petty, Billy Preston, Ravi y Anoushka Shankar, Ringo Starr, Dhani Harrison y muchos más. Fué David Leland (reconocido por su actuación como director en la película “Si estuvieras aquí”, la serie “Hermanos de sangre” de la HBO y el vídeo “Handle With Care” de los Traveling Wilburys) quien dirigió “Concert for George”. Ganador de un Grammy®, este documental contiene interpretaciones extraordinarias de algunos de los mejores temas del siglo XX, incluyendo “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” (con Clapton a la guitarra, McCartney al piano y Starr en la batería), “Taxman” (interpretado por Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers) y “The Inner Light” (versión de Jeff Lynne y Anoushka Shankar). Lynne, viejo amigo y colaborador de Harrison, produjo los elementos de audio del concierto, y Clapton supervisó todo el espectáculo como director musical.
